Biography
Emma Alvin (b. 1994, Stockholm) is an artist mediating the disconnect between the on and offline through works that blend costume, performance and experience design. Her practice is rooted in storytelling, digital culture and dramatics, under the belief that these elements are important social vectors that can venture into the outrageous or insane. Harnessing the unpredictable, Alvin captures animated, visual worlds that blur distinction, reinstating balance and in some cases destroying the codes of the sane><insane, self><other, good><bad and internal><social.
She has worked with international clients including Balenciaga, My Beautiful City, Virón, and Hugo Boss alongside editorial projects with Novembre Magazine, GATA Magazine and SHOWstudio. Alvin graduated in 2022 from the (BA) Performance Design and Practice at Central Saint Martins, UAL with a First-class Honours degree.
